Aggressive carbide tipped teeth with deep self-cleaning gullets easily cut thick or layered building materials including wood, wall tile, fiberglass, plastic, even fiber-cement siding (including popular James Hardie and CertainTeed fiber-cement products). Quick-change pilot drills with a built-in, tight gripping hex shank are available in both high speed steel and carbide tipped designs. The extra length of these pilot drills allows the drill point to extend 1 in (25 mm) beyond the hole saw's teeth for cutting uneven surfaces like lap siding. Cutting a hole in the wall plate area of a house clad with fiber-cement siding is a breeze. A generous 2-1/4 in (57 mm) hole saw cup depth is also versatile for cutting through a variety of other wall cross sections. A quick-connect/quick-release arbor design easily attaches or changes out the pilot drill or hole saw. The unique quick release feature ejects saw plugs with ease.
