Thermocouples

A thermocouple is an electrical device that converts heat directly in to electricity, consisting of two dissimilar conductors forming electrical junctions at differing temperatures. A thermocouple produces a temperature-dependent voltage as a result of the thermoelectric effect, and this voltage can be interpreted to measure temperature and A thermocouple can also work in reverse - using an electric current to transform into heat as well as cold.
